Plungers (pistons) for high-pressure compressors

A long cemented carbide tool used to produce low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) in a petrochemical plant. This product is used as a piston in a high-pressure compressor and requires high compressive strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.

Because plungers are used at ultra high pressures reaching a maximum of 3,500 bar, MITSUBISHI MATERIALS HARDMETAL provides plungers using selected cemented carbide with high compressive strength that have been produced under strict quality control.
