Please tell us briefly about the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
- Precision casting (lost-wax)
Costs for the mold are relatively low. However, a lot of processes are required, resulting in it taking a longer time.
- Die-casting
Because aluminum is directly shaped in a mold, the dimension accuracy is high and the process time is short. This method has the highest mass productivity. However, since pressure is applied to the mold, a mold that can withstand the pressure is necessary, which results in high initial costs.
- Gravity
This method casts aluminum in a mold using its own weight only. It has a short process time and high mass productivity. Though initial costs such as the mold cost are lower than die-casting, the casting surface quality and dimension accuracy are inferior.
